A downloadable project

TIRED is based on an idea I had about a year ago, when I still took the bus daily to go to classes and regularly fell asleep on the ride. I did some mockups and developed some concepts for the Finish Your Game Jam 2020. This is just kind of a prototype to imagine what the game would look like, but I don't know if I'll be able to take it to a playable status anytime soon (or ever).

In TIRED, you fall asleep on the bus and must wake up before your stop. In the mockups I created, there are four windows. The one in the top left would be simply aesthetic, not serving any particular purpose in gameplay, because I thought the visuals would look pretty boring otherwise. While you are still awake, you can watch the landscape through the window. It would be an animation looping and showing some landmarks in my city, Seville (pictured: the Alamillo Bridge).

The bottom left window would also disappear when you "close your eyes". It shows the bus route and all the stops, highlighting the one you must pay attention to. In Seville the buses have small TVs and the top right window is just that. I really like it and thought it would be fun to implement. There would be some screens randomly appearing with fun facts and quizzes. When your eyes are closed, the only window you will see is the bottom right, which only displays data (points, level of difficulty...) and gives you access to the options menu and the main menu.

Each round you will have to wake up before a different bus stop. You can change the difficulty to have more information, like a voice announcing the stops or a timer with the estimated time it will take the bus to arrive, which would be at the bottom right window. You can also choose how many rounds to play.

When you fall asleep, you will have to use either the key SPACE or the mouse to click on a button that will wake you up and show you how close you are to your bus stop or if you missed it. The closer you are, the more points you get, except if you passed the stop: that's always 0 points.
